Are you connecting the dots? There are many moving parts in the data chain. When used correctly they come together to deliver incredibly powerful insights into the hands of education officials. Timely submissions to SA-SAMS and provincial data warehouses; EMIS teams; tools like DDD; and of course the use of data insights by officials, are all crucial pieces in the data puzzle. It is up to all of us to understand what those pieces are and how to use them, in order to transform South African education one data point, one learner, one school at a time.
